10 Toddler Hacks that will make your Life Simpler

This post is in partnership with Moms Meet. All opinions, as always are mine.

Have a little toddler that loves to keep you on your toes? Check out these simple yet amazing hacks that can help you make your life easier and simpler.

1. REUSE BOXES FOR FUN CRAFTS

Let’s face it – we all order stuff online and I am sure as you are reading this, you will easily find a couple of boxes lying in your home.

You can create endless craft activities with boxes (think on the lines of a DIY playhouse/ dollhouse/ giant doodle board etc). My toddler loves to color and paint on boxes and makes different creations of his own. When the boxes get beaten up, we toss them and start our next craft activity with a new box.

Plus they are free so this is a total winner in my opinion.

Here’s my little one playing peekaboo in his box that he has painted himself –

2. USE AN ORGANIZER FOR THE BACKSEAT OF YOUR CAR

Before kids, I did not know the amount of stuff you need to carry in your car even if you are going on a short drive. I have a little caddy that permanently stays in my car where I have kept a couple of diapers, wipes, a sanitizer bottle, books, and a few small toys (to keep my little one engaged if he gets bored in the car).

3. USE FOOD PICKS FOR PICKY EATERS

Have a picky eater? Make mealtime interesting by adding fun food picks/ mini skewers. My son always loves it whenever I add animal food picks to his fruits or cheese or whatever it is that he is eating.

4. STICKERS ARE SO VERSATILE

Did you know you can use stickers in so many different ways? If you’re doing potty training, instead of giving them candy every single time as a reward, you can give them stickers instead. Another great way way to use them is to put them inside shoes so they know which foot goes in which shoe.

5. USE MESH BAGS FOR SMALL CLOTHES

Things like socks, bibs, washcloths (and now even masks) are known to get easily lost in the pile of laundry. Mesh bags which are usually meant for delicates are also a great way to keep these little clothes contained so you will not spend your time searching for them.

6. MAKE BEDTIME EASIER & COMFIER

For some reason, bedtime seems to get all the more challenging as the kids grow older. Suddenly your child thinks of all the possible things that they have to do when u tell them it is time for them to go to bed.

One of the main things is to have a consistent routine – which I know almost all you seasoned parents must be already aware of. We always keep it simple but consistent – a nice warm bath, brush teeth, and storytime & cuddle time with his favorite toys.

Oh, and comfy Pajamas are a must! I was recently introduced to PACT CLOTHING and I couldn’t be happier. In fact, I regret not trying them out earlier for my little one! Their clothing is made from soft, breathable, 100% organic cotton and is perfect for my son’s sensitive skin.

Their Dream Big Pajamas are so comfy and soft that they are even great for just lounging around at home all day. If you have tried Pact clothing, y’all know what I am talking about!

One of the best parts about Pact is that they are Fair Trade Certified and all their Dream Big Pajamas for kids are made with a tagless label on the back to prevent discomfort and skin irritation. That is something that I really appreciate because the tags can be so uncomfortable and I always have to get rid of them before I wear clothes to my little one.

If you have never tried out Pact clothing, here’s a deal you wouldn’t wanna miss –

7.  CLEAN BATHROOM WHILE GIVING KIDS A BATH

Parenting is all about multi-tasking and using your time wisely to get chores done. When you are giving your kids a bath, you can do a quick tidy-up of the bathroom or even clear out the clutter so that you can deal with the deep cleaning of the bathroom later.

8. BUBBLES TO THE RESCUE

Bubbles are like an instant source of joy for little ones. Whenever your child feels bored, bust out the bubble wand to make them happy. I always keep extra bubble solution refill bottles so we can play with bubbles endlessly.

9. BASKETS ARE YOUR FRIEND

Whether you have one child or multiple children, the number of toys and stuff can accumulate over a period of time and feel as if they are taking over your entire home.

While having a dedicated play area is possibly one of the best solutions, the toys (especially the smaller toys) often end up at random places in our homes. That’s why when you need to quickly tidy up a room, baskets come in handy.

Just toss everything in a basket, and then when you actually have some time, you can keep those things at their proper place where they belong. We also keep a basket at the bottom of the stairs and put everything in it that we need to carry upstairs which avoids a big pile of mess at the bottom of the stairs

10. GROCERY PICKUP SERVICES

If you are still on the fence about online grocery shopping – trust me – you have got to try it out. These days, many grocery stores offer free curbside pickup service so you don’t even have to shell out monthly membership fees to grocery delivery services. They load everything inside your trunk and it is such a time saver.

What are some of the parenting hacks that you swear by? I would love to know!
