Do you experience dry and dull skin during the Winter? Here are some tips that can help you to get radiant and healthy-looking skin this Winter –
During winter as the weather starts getting cold and harsh, many of us experience dry and dull skin.
I am someone who has constantly struggled with dry skin and the cold harsh winter always takes a toll on my skin. Maintaining healthy and radiant skin takes up time and you have to remain consistent with it in order to see results. Here are some tips to combat dry and dull skin during winter –
1. Exfoliate (but don’t overdo it)
One of the best ways to get rid of dead & dry skin is by exfoliating it. Try to use a gentle exfoliator so that your skin doesn’t get irritated, especially if you have sensitive skin. Try to exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week. There are some really nice face & body scrubs that you can get at a very affordable price. And if it’s something that you keep forgetting to do, you can opt for a body wash that has exfoliating properties in it.
2. Avoid Showering with extreme Hot Water
Okay, I have totally been guilty of this. I love taking long, hot showers – they are such a great way to help soothe relax sore muscles but taking extremely hot showers (however tempting they might be during winter) is actually not so good for your skin. It can tend to dry out your skin more quickly which can lead to irritation or itchy skin (something that many people tend to experience during winter).
So be mindful of the temperature of the water when you are taking a shower and your skin will certainly thank you.
4. Add a good quality Serum to your daily skincare routine
Serums are said to be the real MVPs of your skincare routine but we often tend to forget about them. For many people, everyday skincare simply means cleansing and then moisturizing.
Serums have a ton of benefits – they are typically lighter than moisturizers or face creams and are designed to penetrate your skin in a more effective manner. They are said to help improve dullness of skin, brighten, and even skin tone as well as reduce signs of aging.
I have been using TruSkin Vitamin C Serum for quite some time now and thought I’d share my honest opinion with you guys.
This serum has active Vitamin C in it that targets dark spots, fine lines, and overall tone while nourishing, protecting, and feeding the skin. It also contains a high concentration of organic aloe vera that calms and soothes skin.
TruSkin’s philosophy is as clear as flawless skin—their goal is simply to help reveal yours and keep it at its beautiful best. TruSkin only uses ingredients that feature simple truths, and you’ll know them for their real results!
You don’t need to use a ton of product – just apply 2-5 drops on cleansed & toned skin – day or night, or both depending on what your skin needs. I usually use it twice a day – in the morning and before going to bed.
It doesn’t have an overpowering scent to it (something that I always appreciate) and feels really lightweight on the skin. You can even apply it under makeup so there is no reason for you to skip this step in your daily skincare routine. I have definitely noticed a difference after I started using it. My skin appears to be healthy without any dullness.
The best part of TruSkin is that their products are –
Cruelty-Free (Leaping Bunny Certified)
Dermatologist and clinically tested.
I definitely like to support brands that are cruelty-free so this is a definite winner for me. Plus, my skin truly feels like it has improved over the past several weeks since I started using it.

3. Moisturize, baby!
This one is a no-brainer – but the key is to moisturize your skin daily. Studies say that ideally, you should moisturize your body quickly after you take a shower or bath to lock in that moisture. There are also wet skin moisturizers available these days that you can apply on wet skin while in the shower itself.
As for your face, always apply moisturizer AFTER your serum since moisturizers/ face creams are typically thicker than serums and help to lock in the serum and nourish & hydrate your skin.
5. Face Masks
I try to use face masks at least once a week – they are such a great way to give that pampered feeling and they help rejuvenate the skin. I also love using under-eye patches every once in a while along with face masks that help to give dry and tired eyes such a soothing relief.
