During winter as the weather starts getting cold and harsh, many of us experience dry and dull skin.

I am someone who has constantly struggled with dry skin and the cold harsh winter always takes a toll on my skin. Maintaining healthy and radiant skin takes up time and you have to remain consistent with it in order to see results. Here are some tips to combat dry and dull skin during winter –

1. Exfoliate (but don’t overdo it)

One of the best ways to get rid of dead & dry skin is by exfoliating it. Try to use a gentle exfoliator so that your skin doesn’t get irritated, especially if you have sensitive skin. 2. Avoid Showering with extreme Hot Water

Okay, I have totally been guilty of this. I love taking long, hot showers – they are such a great way to help soothe relax sore muscles but taking extremely hot showers (however tempting they might be during winter) is actually not so good for your skin. It can tend to dry out your skin more quickly which can lead to irritation or itchy skin (something that many people tend to experience during winter).

So be mindful of the temperature of the water when you are taking a shower and your skin will certainly thank you.

3. Moisturize, baby!

This one is a no-brainer – but the key is to moisturize your skin daily. Studies say that ideally, you should moisturize your body quickly after you take a shower or bath to lock in that moisture. There are also wet skin moisturizers available these days that you can apply on wet skin while in the shower itself.
