Giving the Gift of Time & Creating Memories this Holiday season

This post is sponsored by Wente Vineyards but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

When was the last time you kept your phone aside and truly had a meaningful conversation with your loved ones giving your undivided attention? This Holiday season, let’s make it a priority to make time & create memories with our friends and family. As the year comes to an end, here’s how I am committing to spending some real time with my loved ones and being present for them.

With smartphones always in our hands, we are somehow always preoccupied with other things. Whether its work emails, text messages or constant Instagram or Facebook updates, we are always trying to multi-task everything. And with social media at our fingertips, there’s always a competition to click and post the best photos.

I am no different and will be honest with you – ever since having a baby, we must have clicked hundreds of photos of those precious little moments. It’s like we want to capture every memory of our little babe.

But looking back at those photos has also made me realize that it is also essential for me to enjoy those precious moments and not just see them through a lens. So this Holiday season, I’m committing myself to truly spending quality time with my loved ones and creating everlasting memories.

Because more than any expensive gift, there’s one gift that’s priceless and will be appreciated the most – your time. The best part about it is that giving your time does not require much. Here’s how you can do it too –

1. Unplug from the electronic world

If you’re hosting a party, you can request your guests to keep their phones and other electronic devices away for a couple of hours (I’m sure being away from electronics for just a few hours won’t harm anyone) This way no one will be distracted and you can truly hang out with each other like the good old times and catch up with everyone.

2. Plan out fun activities

Games like White Elephant, Pictionary, cookie decorating or even ugly sweater competitions are so much fun to play during the holiday season. The best part is that everyone can participate in it and have a blast.

3. Have meaningful conversations

Having meaningful conversations doesn’t always mean talking about yourself and your experiences. It also means being a good listener which can often help you gain a better perspective towards life.

Regardless of how we plan to celebrate the Holiday season, we always make sure that we have plenty of wine for everyone. Wente Vineyards Wines is an excellent choice for gatherings.

Their Riva Ranch Vineyard Chardonnay is a full-bodied Chardonnay and has the classic flavors of apple and pear, along with aromas and flavors of tropical and stone fruits.

Just like me, Wente Vineyards Wines also believes in appreciating life’s precious moments & gifting your presence to your loved ones.

Their chardonnay pairs really well with mild, buttery & creamy dishes like pasta, pizzas or even properly seasoned seafood & chicken.

A glass of wine and a cheese platter has always been a staple at our home and is a surefire way to have a relaxing and fun time with the special people in our life. I’m definitely looking forward to the Holiday season this year and creating memories with my family & friends, especially since it will be our baby’s first Holiday.

Just like me, I urge you to live more in the present. This Holiday season, take a pause and try to keep all distractions away when you meet your friends and family and truly make time for them. Trust me, no material gift can ever replace the gift of your time.

How are you planning to celebrate the Holidays this year? Don’t forget to check out Wente Vineyard Wines and enjoy some quality time with your loved ones.
