Whether you’re a parent, a pet owner or simply living with your partner, we’ve all been in a situation where life sometimes gets crazy and our homes get super messy. So how do you tackle all of that? Here are a few simple tips to embrace life’s messy moments and at the same time keep your floors sparkling clean –
You know you are an adult when clean shiny floors make you super happy. Now, don’t be under the impression that I’m some kind of a super clean or a neat freak. It’s just that a clean space instantly elevates the room and makes everything look much better.
And now with back to school season in full swing and Fall not so far from us, getting back to the cleaning routine is one of the major chores that everyone has on their minds right now. Especially for people with kids or pets, it’s almost as if you just cleaned your home a few minutes ago only to get dirtier again which can make you feel like – “ughhhh.” I’m pretty confident many of you will agree with me.
Here are a few tips to make sure you always have sparkling clean floors –
Entryway Rug
Even though we all have a doormat outside our door, an entryway rug is a great way to contain the dust and further stop dirt from tracking indoors.
No Shoe policy
We’ve always had a no shoe policy and have separate indoor footwear and it has always worked great for us. While I understand that a no-shoe policy might not work for all, just think of where your shoes have been all day – public restrooms, trains, grocery stores etc. and imagine all the dirt tracking in. Do you really want all that inside your home?
Apart from the hygiene factor, it also helps to protect your floors and keeps excess dirt away which means less work for you.
Using a good quality Mop will work Wonders
As much as I’d like to believe that sweeping regularly helps to keep dust at bay, it’s not enough. I love trying out new cleaning solutions and I’m happy to have found my favorite cleaning product of all time – the Libman Wonder Mop which makes cleaning my floors such a breeze!
I hate mops that leave the floors streaky and overly wet and those who just wipe the floors without actually lifting off the dirt. But Libman’s Wonder Mop has seriously changed the game and keeps my hardwood floors as well as tile floors sparkling clean. No wonder it is America’s favorite brand of cleaning!
Each Wonder® Mop has microfiber GRIPSTRIPS™ that lift up to 20% more dirt leaving your floors cleaner. Plus it has a power wringer which allows you to remove more water from the microfiber mop head allowing your floors to dry faster.
The best part about it is that it works on all surfaces and its microfiber mop head can be washed in the machine for up to 50 times.

Spot Clean & Take Action Immediately
If there are any accidental spills or times when your floors have gotten super messy, it’s always better to clean up the mess right away. If you leave them as is and tell yourself you’ll do it later, you’re only going to be making things difficult for you and end up spending more time cleaning it later.
Try to Make it Fun & Less of a Chore
Listening to your favorite music or podcast when cleaning around the house makes it much more fun and feels less like a mundane chore. Also if you have kids, involve them in it and give them specific tasks that they can achieve.
And lastly, learn to embrace life’s messes
They say a well-loved home is where all the messes take place because we are busy enjoying life, making memories and well, I couldn’t agree with it more. So although this may not be a tip on how to clean your floors, learn to relax and live in the moment. Because you can always clean the mess but nothing should stop you from enjoying life.
