Heading to Ithaca to explore all the beautiful waterfalls & enjoy the scenic beauty and wondering where to stay? The Hotel Ithaca located in downtown Ithaca, New York will make sure you have a perfectly relaxing getaway by offering you a luxurious stay.
I was given a complimentary stay but as always, all opinions are mine. Thank you Hotel Ithaca for a memorable experience!
A few days ago, when the fall colors were almost at their peak, we headed to Ithaca, New York for a weekend of fun, relaxation, and exploration.
Ithaca located in the Finger Lakes region of New York is home to over 150 waterfalls. From pristine gorges to hiking trails, beautiful wineries to museum hopping, there is so much to explore in Ithaca that will truly leave you mesmerized.
No wonder the city’s tagline is ‘Ithaca is Gorges.’
During our weekend getaway, we had the opportunity to stay at the beautiful Hotel Ithaca located in downtown Ithaca.
The Hotel Ithaca is managed by Hart hotels. Having already experienced the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel earlier this year (which is also managed by them) I was really looking forward to our stay. Let me take you on a virtual tour and share our wonderful experience here.
About Hotel Ithaca
The Hotel Ithaca offers deluxe rooms and suites, an indoor heated pool and fitness center. Their conference facilities feature a 3,000 square feet ballroom that can accommodate business meetings, dinners, weddings, or receptions.
A beautiful and spacious lobby welcomes you as you make your way in. You can make yourself comfortable here while you are waiting to get checked-in your room.
An ever friendly and smiling staff not only took care of our needs but also went out of the way to guide us and tell us about the various things that we can explore in Ithaca.
Prime Location
The Hotel is located in downtown Ithaca and is close to all major tourist attractions. It is minutes away from the Ithaca Commons which has a wide array of restaurants. It is also close to Cornell University and Ithaca College as well as various waterfalls and hiking trails including the famous Taughannock Waterfalls and the Ithaca Falls.
Due to its convenient location, my husband and I loved walking to the Ithaca Commons to explore the different restaurants as well as the surrounding areas.
Cozy & Luxurious Rooms
A sparklingly clean & luxurious looking room will leave you impressed the moment you walk in.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a bottle of Wine from one of Ithaca’s famous wineries and a cheese and cracker platter.
They also have one of the most comfiest beds I have ever slept on! You ever feel like just snuggling in your bed all day long and not wanting to get up? Well, multiply that feeling by 100 times and that’s how it felt every time we lay on our hotel bed.
It almost feels like sleeping on a cloud just like their 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel in Clayton. And by no means am I exaggerating. Even some of the guests who were staying there had to say the same thing about their beds 😀
Our room was equipped with a mini-fridge, a flat-screen TV, fluffy robes as well as a Keurig Coffee machine among other things.
What does the hotel offer?
- Heated indoor pool
- Fitness center
- Full-service dining: breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Max’s Classic American Grill
- Airport and campus transportation
- Valet service
- Safe deposit boxes available at guest services
- High-speed internet access
- Ballroom & conference facilities
Apart from the above, you can also book packages like their Romance Package or Hiking Package to make your stay even more luxurious.
Bon Appetit
During our visit to Ithaca, the city was gearing up for its annual Wizarding Weekend Event. Keeping up with this theme, Hotel Ithaca had a Wizarding Brunch that guests could enjoy while reliving their Wizarding fantasies.
The next morning, we headed to the hotel’s ballroom for our brunch. The spacious Ballroom was decked with floating candles, dementors and other spooky things which brought back memories of the Harry Potter series. Being a Potter fan, it truly felt magical to experience all of this.
Even the buffet spread had a Wizarding theme with dishes that had names like – Quaffles, Broomstick French Toasts, Toxic Mac & Cheese and Candy Corn Fruit Parfaits! It was a happy place for all Potter fans and I could see the excitement on everyone’s faces as they devoured the delicious brunch.
My favorite had to be the Live Omelette station where you could customize the Omelette to your taste.
What to Explore in and around Ithaca?
Like I mentioned, there is so much to explore in Ithaca that honestly two days won’t be enough if you want to cover everything.
However, my husband and I tried to make the most out of our trip. We explored several hiking trails and waterfalls including the Taughannock falls & the Ithaca falls (more on that in a post coming soon!)
In the afternoon, we took out the time to visit a few wineries like the Americana Vineyard and the Six Mile Creek Vineyards and even got a couple of bottles to bring back home.
Of course, we also explored the Wizarding Weekend Event that took place at the Ithaca Commons.
Since everything is super close by, we could do multiple activities within a span of two days while still taking out the time to relax during the evenings in our cozy hotel room.
Final Verdict?
If you love nature and the outdoors and if you’ve not yet visited Ithaca, you should definitely plan a trip soon! No matter what season it is, you can always explore Ithaca and enjoy its beauty. And while you’re exploring the city, The Hotel Ithaca will help you make your visit to the ‘gorges city’ truly amazing!
With impeccable rooms, splendid location, and friendly staff, The Hotel Ithaca is sure to make your stay a luxurious and comfortable one.
As for me, my husband and I are already making plans to visit Ithaca once again with some of our friends in the coming months ahead.
