The Best Thing about Memories is making them.

As I was going through the folders on my laptop, I stumbled upon photos of our Malaysia Trip which we took almost two years back. It was one of the best trips…a much-deserved break and a stress buster.

We visited the beautiful island of Langkawi, the magnificent city of Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands. Each place is unique and created beautiful memories.

Langkawi is truly a tropical paradise. We had stayed in the stunning ‘Berjaya Langkawi Resort’.  They offer rainforest chalets as well as sea view chalets – both offering beautiful views. One tip that I would like to share is – if you ever go to such hotels/ resorts offering completely different views, you can consider splitting your time between them. That way you can get best of both the worlds.

Apart from all the touristy stuff, we also rented a scooter for a day, took a map and practically roamed the entire island the whole day! That was the highlight of our stay. It was an impromptu decision since we had kept a day off and decided to just go for it. From climbing steep steps to reach a beautiful waterfall to going on beaches as well as visiting the top most point of Langkawi… we had the time of our life!

Our next stop was the city of Kuala Lumpur… a beautiful city with friendly people. One thing to keep in mind about Malaysia is its unexpected weather. It can start raining any minute while the next second it can be crystal clear. Carrying a small umbrella would be a good option.

Malaysia is famous for the beautiful Petronas towers and oh how magnificent are they! These twin towers should be seen both in daylight as well as during the evening. Luckily for us, our hotel was very close to the towers and the bonus perk was that our room had a direct view of them!

The last destination was Genting Highlands. Since it’s nestled on a mountain, it has really pleasant and cool weather. In the mornings, you can see the clouds right in front of you as you can see below –

Genting has a splendid indoor as well as an outdoor theme park. I’m a kid at heart..so obviously I wanted to go there. The hubby? Not a fan of them. You can only imagine the hard time I had in convincing him to join me in the rides.. 😀 We also went in the famous Skyway – a cable car ride between the scenic mountains. I highly recommend it if you ever go there.

Apart from the gorgeous locations, the one thing that I truly enjoyed is the food! I love exploring different cuisines and Malay food is one of the yummiest! I had my fill of Satay over there along with a lot of other dishes including some local street food as well!

Language is not much of a barrier and it is pretty easy to get around places. If you ask me, I liked Langkawi more than the other two places for its beauty. It’s a great place to unwind and it felt like staying right in the middle of a rainforest while still being super close to the beach. Thank you Malaysia for all the memories!
