If you are a serious coffee lover, having a dedicated coffee station at home is the perfect way to start your day.
Can you guys believe that summer is almost over? I mean coffee shops have already started to roll out their pumpkin spice lattes! I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that time is just flying by.
For me, coffee is one of those things that can help me think clearly in the morning. I usually like to wake before our baby wakes up because let’s face it – that is the only ‘me time’ that I get. The first thing that I do when I walk in the kitchen is to have my morning cuppa coffee. It’s the only thing that prepares me for the day ahead and sets me in a good mood.
A peaceful and early start helps me to think clearly and focus on my goals and to-do lists for that day. Recently I started using my new Keurig® K-Duo Essentials™ Coffee Maker that has taken my coffee game to the next level. I am so incredibly happy with it that I went ahead and decided to give my little coffee corner a facelift.
Honesty this designated coffee bar has become like my happy place now. I don’t like too much clutter so I have aimed to keep my little coffee nook or coffee corner as you may call it pretty minimal and simple.
Here’s how I did it –
1. Of course, the first & foremost thing is that you gotta have a good coffee machine. And by good, I mean really really good!
As I said, I recently got the Keurig® K-Duo Essentials™ Coffee Maker and I have become such a huge fan of it. It is designed to not only brew K-Cup® pods but also ground coffee. So it practically gives you the best of both the worlds.
Now although I like coffee from my K-Cup® pods as it is super fast and convenient, there is something about freshly ground coffee that I absolutely love. Not only does it taste way better, but it also makes the whole home smell so delicious as if you have walked straight into a cafe.
The glass carafe that comes along with the Keurig machine makes 12-cups of coffee and is perfect for us especially during the weekends when we are at home and need several cups of coffee throughout the day.
For other days, the individual K-Cup® pods are perfect since I usually have coffee twice a day.
It also has a Smart Start feature that heats up the coffee & brews in one simple process. The other good part about it is that it can brew multiple sizes so we can just brew the coffee in a travel mug and get going. The 60 oz. water reservoir at the back is convenient and it is easy to pour water into it – such a time-saver especially on busy mornings.
It retails for $99 and in my opinion, pretty budget-friendly if you think about it considering it can make both ground coffee as well as brew K-cup® pods. Definitely a must-have for all coffee lovers!
2. A Tiered Tray
I recently got this 2 tiered tray and it works great for me. It can easily hold our K-cup® pods, ground coffee package, coffee filters as well as coffee mugs. Keeping everything together makes sure that I don’t have to scramble to gather the supplies early in the morning to make a cup of coffee.
Since we don’t usually put sugar in our coffee, I have not kept any sugar on the tray. But you can add things like a little sugar container, creamer or anything else that you prefer.
Having the pods in front of me gives it a visual appeal and makes me feel like a kid in a candy store.
3. The last thing is to have a little framed piece of art with an inspirational quote that you love or a cute coffee sign.
I made this little ‘Fresh Coffee Served here’ sign and it adds a little jazz to my coffee corner. Here’s the free printable for the sign if you’d like to print it out for yourself.
And that’s it. Now every time I head to the kitchen in the morning, I feel even more inspired & look forward to starting the day on a fresh note.
