‘How can I stay healthier this New Year’ or How can I be more productive this New Year‘ are one of the most common thoughts that often cross our minds as the year comes to an end. And with the holiday season upon us, the temptations are high which makes maintaining a healthy lifestyle a little difficult. Plus with a busy lifestyle, comes the need to remain fit and healthy. This is where Multi vitamins like Centrum ® MultiGummies ® play an important role in supplying your body with your daily dose of essential vitamins.
So, as the year is coming to an end, I thought I’d share some time-saving hacks that can help you to be more productive and tips to kick-start a healthy New Year.
1. Keep a tab on your Cell phone usage
There is no doubt that our cell phones dominate our lives. Right from the moment we wake up to the time we go to sleep, we are attached to our phones. It’s like we cannot imagine a life without them!
They say that limiting screen time on TVs is important but I feel limiting your cell phone usage has become all the more important. Excess usage of cell phones can cause various side effects like affecting your sleep pattern, is said to be harmful to the eyes and may also cause neck pain.
But I’m not asking you to cut down your cell phone usage completely. Start with small baby steps.
For example – My husband and I have made a habit of not checking any emails as soon as we get up. The reason being, if you check your work emails the first thing in the morning, your brain will keep on thinking about it (even when you take your shower in the morning! ) Small things like this can help you in leading a healthier lifestyle.
2. Get Moving!
Winter is a time when all we want to do is snuggle up at home. There are times when hitting the gym also seems like a huge task in the winter. I’m a huge fan of Zumba and what I love to do is follow various free Zumba tutorials on youtube and do my workout at home.
While Zumba is fun, if you are looking out for an intense workout program, T25 – Total Body workout is a great option too. My husband and I sometimes do it together and it’s really fun and motivating!
3. Never Skip Breakfast & Have plenty of water
Everyone knows that skipping breakfast is a big no-no! But what do you do if sometimes you get late and have absolutely no time for breakfast? This happens to me many times and on days like these, I grab an apple or a banana so I can eat it on the go. I also ensure that both my husband & I carry a small pack of trail mix so that we don’t end up eating junk food whenever we get hungry.
Similarly, drinking plenty of water has many benefits but I always tend to forget about it. That’s why I like to keep a bottle of water right on my desk. This helps me to remind that I need to drink water every hour.
4. Get your MultiVitamins
You all must be very well aware that our body often doesn’t get the required nutrients. Even if we ensure that we start our days with a healthy breakfast, we can still miss out on essential vitamins. So one way I support my health is by taking my Centrum® MultiGummies®.
My go to multivitamins are Centrum ® MultiGummies ® that you can easily find in Walmart. I love how Walmart conveniently places them in their Multivitamins aisle so it is easy to locate them.
When I’m traveling, I like to carry them with me in my purse which helps me to stay healthy on the go! Centrum® MultiGummies® are gluten-free and have no artificial flavors or sweeteners.
These multi-benefit multivitamins include 100% or more of essential nutrients, Vitamins B12, D, and E. They are a simple solution to feeling good about your health. Centrum® MultiGummies® makes it easy for me to support my health while enjoying my busy lifestyle.
5. Create Lists
Okay, this may sound boring. But lists really help to save your time and be more productive. I like to call myself a ‘planner’ and right from making my grocery lists to paying our monthly utility bills and other things, I make lists. It helps me to stay organized and stay on track! An easy way for me to keep a track of my weekly lists is by pinning them onto my kitchen refrigerator so I don’t forget about them.
6. Follow Set Routines
Don’t let the word ‘routine’ scare you. When you follow set routines, your body will thank you. If you are someone who hates organization, I can totally feel you since I was the same. But over a period of time, I have realized that fixing schedules in my day to day activities helps me to get more things done than ever before!
Just make a mental note of what needs to be done when and you’ll get more free time and peace for yourself. Trust me, it really works.
7. Plan out your activities
Planning your daily activities is of utmost importance. It not only helps save time but also causes less stress. For example – I decide what I’m going to wear the next morning on the previous night itself. This helps me save so much time and an unnecessary waste of energy the next morning.
Similarly, in Winter, I also make it a point to keep our jackets, gloves, socks, scarves and other winter essentials in our coat closet so that we can just grab them from one place and leave.
8. Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize!
I can’t stress this enough. Sometimes we tend to have so many tasks at hand that we get confused what to do first. This can cause you to get overwhelmed.
As a blogger, for me, things can sometimes get chaotic with all the editing of posts and photos, managing my social media and replying to emails. The easiest way to overcome this and be productive is to prioritize your tasks.
Check what needs to be done first and start with that. This will help you to achieve more tasks in a systematic manner.
9. Get Enough Sleep
Sleep deprivation is one of the major factors for increased level of stress. Getting 8-10 hours of sleep is crucial. But let’s be honest, in this day and time, many of us get only 5-6 hours of sleep daily.
One way we started going to bed early is by having our dinner early and by cutting down late night TV shows/ movies on weekdays, however tempting they might sound. And trust me, changing this simple habit has helped us a lot! When you get enough sleep, you have more energy to do the things that you love.
10. And Finally, De-stress!
I know this is easier said than done but it is really important to de-stress yourself. Simple things like shutting off your notifications on your cell phone or listening to relaxing music can help you wind down for the day.
Make a playlist of your favorite soothing songs or music. If you love reading, kick back with a nice book. Or hang out with your best friends on a weekend. The best way I like to relax is by pampering myself. I love applying face masks and then jump in a nice hot bath and soak in it while listening to music.
So these were some of my tips that can help you to lead a more productive and healthy lifestyle. Are you ready to make some healthy changes? What are some of your tips that you’d like to share with me?
