The Holiday mood is in full swing everywhere and just thinking about all the festivities is already making me so excited! But let’s face it – holidays can sometimes be stressful with all the shopping and the running around that you have to do.
From the beginning, I have always said that I wish to inspire all of you to enjoy delicious meals without having to spend too much time in the kitchen.
So how do you host a delightful and hassle-free party? Well, you don’t have to have extraordinary skills in the culinary department to host fabulous parties.
Thanksgiving is almost here and by using JENNIE-O® OVEN READY™ Turkey along with some easy side dishes, you won’t have to worry about cooking a huge storm at your home.
Read on to find out how I made a delicious hassle-free holiday meal. I’m also sharing 2 Easy side dishes in this post. Plus there’s a fun Giveaway at the end! {Giveaway closed}
We love hosting parties at our home and Thanksgiving is a perfect way of meeting up with our close friends and family. I’m the kind of person who likes to prep in advance so as not to break a sweat when guests come over. Easy entertaining is key to me!
My husband always teases me for that and says – hey, you don’t own a restaurant where you are expected to serve meals quickly. But you know, it’s just the way I am. And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one, right?
So here is how you can Impress your guests with a delicious dinner this holiday season that is easy and stress-free for you.
For the upcoming holidays, you can buy any of the delicious JENNIE-O® OVEN READY™ Whole Turkey, OVEN READY™ Cajun Style Whole Turkey or OVEN READY™ Turkey Breasts.
Seriously, go grab yourself a glass of your favorite wine or cocktail and relax and let JENNIE-O® do all the work for you. You deserve it.
While their Whole turkey is perfect for a large gathering, if you have fewer guests, I feel their Turkey breasts paired with other side dishes would be a perfect holiday meal.
JENNIE-O® OVEN READY™ Turkey goes straight from your freezer to your oven, no thawing needed. It is pre-seasoned and even comes with a gravy packet.
This means you can serve a moist, delicious and flavorful Turkey without all the work of cleaning the turkey (ughh) and prepping it. So much of your time will be saved! Pair it with your favorite veggies or stuffing and you will be one happy soul.
You can also check out JENNIE-O® website that has great content featuring delicious and easy holiday recipes that you can create this holiday season. I was honestly drooling after looking at all the recipe ideas that they have on their website.
Here is how I paired their OVEN READY™ Turkey Breasts along with 2 easy side dishes!
My First side dish is a simple & easy Skillet Roasted Sweet Potatoes recipe.
Now I know mashed potatoes are loved by everyone but sweet potatoes have their own charm and are often sidelined. Not only are they inexpensive but are rich in Vitamins like Vitamin B6, C, D and are also known to have iron and potassium. This versatile root vegetable can be boiled, roasted, baked, grilled or even pureed.
My 2nd side dish is an ‘Easy Buttery Garlic Knots’ recipe
Warm, buttery, flaky and ready under 10 minutes – what’s not to love? I used store bought biscuit dough, cut each piece in half, stretched them a bit and then ‘tied them in knots’. Before baking it in the oven, I brushed a mixture of butter, garlic and parmesan cheese and they were ready in 10 minutes!
They are kid-friendly and you can even ask the kids to help you with this recipe 🙂 To take it to the next level, you can even add mozzarella cheese inside these knots.
Here’s how you can whip up both these easy recipes –
Ingredients
- Sweet Potatoes - 4 medium sized
- Dried herbs (of your choice) - 2 tbsp
- Salt & Pepper as per taste
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- 1. Pre-made Biscuit dough (I used Pilsbury brand) - 1 tube
- 2. Butter - 2 tbsp
- 3. Garlic cloves - 2 to 3
- 4. Dried Parsley - 1 tbsp
- 5. Grated Parmesan Cheese - 2 tbsp
- 4. Salt to taste
Instructions
- Peel and grate the sweet potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch cubes.
- In a big non-stick pan, heat some oil.
- Add the sweet potatoes to the pan and then add the herbs, salt and pepper. Saute it for 15-20 minutes on medium heat until the sweet potatoes are cooked.
- Pre-heat oven to 400 F. Lightly spray a baking pan with nonstick spray.
- Cut each biscuit dough into half and then roll each piece approximately 5 inches long. Tie them into knots. Tuck the ends.
- Finely chop or mince the garlic cloves. In a small bowl, melt butter in a microwave and add a pinch of salt, dried parsley, minced garlic and parmesan cheese. Brush this mixture on the knots that you have created.
- Bake for 10 minutes or as per the package directions.
- Serve them warm.
So there you go – a delicious and stress-free holiday meal for you without all the unnecessary hassle.

November 8, 2016We like to buy their turkey breasts, rather than the whole turkey. They still have some bones you have to get rid of, but not as much as the whole turkey. They also have a ton of recipes on their site, from the dressing to the pies.

November 12, 2016Same here, David..we prefer them over the whole Turkey too.
