Giant pumpkins weighing over 1000 pounds? Did I hear that right? Yup! The New York Botanical Garden hosts a pumpkin carving festival every year.ย Events such as these are like a breath of fresh air.ย
We went there last year and I knew I just HAD to share it here on my blog! Giant pumpkins from all around are brought; some of them are carved and then displayed for visitors.
This one was really creepy and I wonder how they must have carved it-
It is indeed an art to carve these pumpkins and to see them on display is surreal.
They have an ongoing festival in the month of October where newly carved giant pumpkins are displayed along with a few workshops for kids as well. For those who are in and around the city can definitely think of going there – it’s worth a visit. But for those who can’t, you can check out their site and see a few of their pumpkin carvings.
XOXO

October 26, 2015These are awesome – I wish the British took Halloween as seriously as you do across the Atlantic ๐ I have my pumpkin ready and waiting to be carved. Every year I look at elaborate designs but it still generally turns out as a face with triangular eyes!
