A complimentary stay was given for part of our stay and as always, all opinions are mine. Thank you, Mayflower Park Hotel for a memorable stay.

When you think of visiting Seattle, you may think of sipping onto one of the best coffees that you have ever tried as well as experiencing nature at its best. Of course not to forget the iconic Space Needle and the memories associated with the classic movie – Sleepless in Seattle.

While that is absolutely true, there are so many other things that Seattle has to offer.

Over the last week of December, we took a mini vacay to Seattle and explored different parts of the city. We also ventured out of the city as well as took a day trip to Portland, Oregon.

During our visit to Seattle, we stayed at the gorgeous Mayflower Park Hotel. So let me take you on a virtual tour and share our wonderful experience here.

About Mayflower Park Hotel

Mayflower Park Hotel was built in the year 1927 and is Seattle’s longest continuously operating hotel for 90 years. Throughout its 90 years, it has always been managed by local owners. They have earned several awards over the years like the Best Historic Hotel amongst many other awards.

The Hotel has successfully managed to keep its charm while keeping up with all modern amenities. As you walk in, you are welcomed with a beautiful and spacious lobby and greeted by a friendly concierge.

Since it was Christmas when we were visiting, they had a pretty Gingerbread Village display that was made by the hotel staff.

Luxurious & Charming Rooms

We stayed on the 12th floor in the King Suite which offers a separate living room and a bedroom with a plush King sized bed and two bathrooms. Our room was also equipped with two flat screen TVs, coffee machine, mini fridge and a writing desk.

Inside our room, we were greeted with a cute little goodie bag along with brochures to all the things that the hotel has to offer.

Our room also had a view of downtown Seattle and we thoroughly enjoyed the snowfall from our hotel windows during Christmas Eve.

On Christmas day, we had a little surprise outside our door – a couple of chocolates and a Christmas tree ornament celebrating the 90 years of the hotel. I think it’s these little touches that make your stay so much more memorable.

Prime location

The Hotel is located in downtown Seattle and is close to all major public transportation systems. It is walking distance from the famous Pike Place Market and is also close to a variety of different restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience stores.

In fact, thanks to the convenient location of our Hotel, we could take advantage of all the things that Pike Place Market has to offer several times during our stay.

Amenities

Here are some of the services and amenities offered by the hotel amongst the various others –

  • Coffee machine, mini fridge and luxury robes in your room
  • Complimentary Wifi
  • 24-hour room service
  • Complimentary wine reception each Wednesday 4:30pm – 5:30pm
  • State of the art Fitness studio
  • Valet Parking service

Bon Appetit

The Hotel is also home to two of the finest restaurants in town – Andaluca Restaurant and Oliver’s Lounge.

Andaluca Restaurant & Bar

If you want to enjoy one of the finest foods in town, don’t look anywhere else.

I will be sharing a full review of the restaurant in the coming days ahead. Till that time, let’s just say that if you are truly looking to have an amazing time whether with family and friends or wish to go on a date with your significant other, Andaluca is the place for you.

Oliver’s Lounge

Oliver’s Lounge located in the Hotel is a beautiful bar that has been operating for 41 years and serves you some of the finest cocktails, martinis, and appetizers.

We had a couple of drinks at Oliver’s during Christmas Eve including their 90th Anniversary Celebration cocktail – “The Bergonian.”

What to explore in and around Seattle?

The Famous Space Needle observatory Tower, Pike Place Market, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Museum of Flight are some of the few famous tourist attractions that you can cover during your stay in Seattle.

You can also overlook the Seattle Waterfront from some cafes located in the Pike Place Market.

One of the most interesting places, while you are exploring Pike Place Market, is the famous Gum Wall. It’s exactly what it says it is – an alley wall covered in chewing gum!

In my opinion, two to three days are enough if you want to cover all the major tourist attractions in Seattle. Public transport is pretty efficient but you can always take an Uber or Lyft ride which can be more convenient at times.

If you’re staying for more than two days in Seattle, you can even consider taking a day trip to Portland or go for a scenic drive in the Mount Rainier National Park located just outside Seattle which is what we did.

Final Verdict?

The charming rooms, the beautiful decor, and the friendly staff at Mayflower Park will make you feel right at home while giving you a truly luxurious experience during your stay in Seattle.

I think their tagline sums up our experience perfectly – ‘Quite simply, One of Kind!’
