Double Chocolate Pecan Pie - A delicious chocolate pecan pie with a fudgy chocolaty filling that will leave your taste buds craving for more. A perfect dessert for holiday parties!

If you are someone who enjoys pecan pie as well as chocolate, and if you have never combined this love of yours, you need to make this recipe asap.

The best part about this Double Chocolate Pecan Pie is that this is a one-pot recipe and does not require any special kitchen tools. If you have a medium-sized bowl and a whisk, you are all set to go. And if the thought of baking a pie scares you, this is just the right recipe for you.

For my chocolate pecan pie, I used semi-sweet chocolate chips as well as Cocoa powder – because hey – one can never have enough chocolate right?

Chocolate Pecan Pie

I used Rodelle Gourmet Baking Cocoa Powder as well as Rodelle Pure Vanilla Extract which has given this Pecan Pie a rich and decadent taste. I think choosing quality ingredients, especially when it comes to baking is very crucial to get the right results and thanks to Rodelle, my Chocolate Pecan Pie turned out rich and delicious.

Rodelle Cocoa powder and vanilla extract

I have made this pie several times –  with whole pecans on top as well as with chopped pecans on top. While whole pecans definitely look prettier, I have noticed that not everyone might enjoy full pecans in their mouth while eating, especially kids.

Also, there’s no corn syrup in this recipe so it’s perfect for those who are looking to making their pecan without any corn syrup.

Double Chocolate Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 9 inch pice crust - 1
  • Eggs - 2
  • Brown Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • White granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder - 1/4 cup (I used Rodelle unsweetened Cocoa Powder)
  • Butter - 1/2 cup
  • All purpose flour - 1 tbsp
  • Milk - 1 tbsp
  • Pure Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp (I used rodelle Vanilla Extract)
  • Pecans - 1.5 cups (chopped)
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips - 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 400 degrees.
  2. Whisk eggs for about 5 minutes till they become light and frothy.
  3. Add brown sugar, butter, granulated white sugar, milk and vanilla extract and again whisk till the mixture is combined.
  4. Then add cocoa powder and all purpose flour and mix well till the cocoa powder is combined properly.
  5. Add 1/2 cup pecans in the mixture and reserve the remaining to sprinkle on top of the pie filling.
  6. Put chocolate chips at the base of the pie crust. Pour your pie filling mixture on top of the pie crust. Finally add the remaining pecans on top.
  7. Bake at 400 F degrees for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, reduce the temp to 350 F and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Notes

Instead of chopped pecans on top, you can choose to put pecan halves on top of the pie filling.

I’ve made pecan pie and I’ve made chocolate pie but never a chocolate pecan pie before. Pie is one of my favorite things and this one looks exceptional! Mmmmm. ????
