A Feast at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill!

gordon ramsay pub and grill

You know you are an avid food lover when you drive 125 + miles just to go and eat at a restaurant!

Every time I watch a Gordon Ramsay video, I fall in love with this celebrity chef’s cooking style over and over again! If you have followed any of his many shows like Hell’s Kitchen, Masterchef or The ‘F’ Word, you’ll know what I mean! It so happens that even the hubby is a huge fan and it was a long pending wish of ours to go to his restaurant.

Unfortunately, the one in NYC called ‘The Maze’ is apparently closed and they have a new one in its place (and it doesn’t really have too many online reviews) But ‘Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill’ in Atlantic City, NJ had pretty awesome reviews, so we decided to hit the road and have a taste of his epic food.

We reached after almost 2.5 hours of anticipation. The restaurant is located inside Caesars Hotel and has a classy, London-style vibe to it, without it being too intimidating.

I was so over the top excited that I had already looked up the menu on their website. I knew for a fact that we had to try their steak. I mean, can you imagine going to a Gordon restaurant for the first time and NOT ordering the signature Steak?? That would be like a catastrophic blunder 😀 (unless of course you don’t eat beef)

The restaurant offers the food lover a feast of textures and flavors. For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Belly. This dish involves a 48-Hour slow-cooked pork belly, with cardamom carrot puree, and cider honey glaze garnished with chopped Pistachios. It was a burst of flavors and the pork literally melted in my mouth sending me to a euphoric state of mind.

The second appetizer was Shrimp Cocktail. Really enjoyed the fresh shrimp poached in lemon shandy. But in my opinion, the Pork belly wins hands down!

For the entrée, as decided we got a Beef Tenderloin. I have never tasted a juicier steak like this before! EVER! You have got to taste it to believe it.

Can I have one more? Like, right now?

The second entrée that we got was the famous “Hell’s Kitchen” Beef WellingtonPerfectly cooked medium-rare beef, mushroom duxelles and prosciutto wrapped in puff pastry with peas and mashed potatoes on the side. I had seen his video on it – Go watch it if you are interested in getting a better look at how it’s done (and tell me you did not drool after seeing his masterpiece!)

For dessert, we were kind of leaning towards the classic Vanilla Crème brûlée. But our server (who was very polite and well-informed) suggested that we go either for their Toffee pudding or Pineapple pie. So as per his recommendation, we went with Pineapple Pot Pie. Warm, roasted pineapples topped with a soft, cinnamon-infused pastry and a scoop of their house made Rum Raisin ice cream ensures to give you Foodgasm!! The dessert was enough for both of us and it was a beautiful end to a beautiful evening.

If you follow Chef Ramsay, you know this man is all about perfection. And I can happily sum up this experience as ‘Perfect.’ Yes, it is on the pricier side; but if you are a food lover and if you can lay hands on any of Gordon’s restaurants, just do it at least once. Okay? And if you have already tried one, I’m sure you’ll agree with me.

Tip: If you happen to go at this location, make sure to park in Caesars’ parking garage. The parking fee is $25, but it is Free if you spend $75 or more on food/ beverages inside Caesars. Just show them your food receipt.

XOXO

I do love watching him on TV, and have often wondered how his food is. I can imagine the Wellington flying through the air when a contestant doesn’t make it properly or food being thrown. It’s such a spectacle but I know he is a perfectionist and won’t accept anything less than that from his chefs. What a great experience everything looks amazing. I actually would like to try his place in NYC and see how it is.

Yes I totally enjoy him using foul language and shouting at all the contestants lol?
If you do give the one in NYC a try, do let me know whether you like it. Maybe I can think of giving it a try then ?

I will let you know. I am always game to try something or someplace new and he does have standards so how bad could it be, at least I hope that’s the case.

I don’t know what the massive hype about Gordon Ramsay is, could you please explain without fangirling too much? The food looked amazing, so I guess that is definitely a factor to consider!

A lot of people (like me) adore this celebrity chef’s love for perfection in the kitchen. Many also love the fact that he is a foul-mouthed person 😀 (on his TV shows) and he is known to never serve a less than perfect dish in his restaurants. Some of his signature dishes are very famous in the culinary world and I must say it is not just a myth. The food was truly amazing! 🙂

It’s his honesty with food and how he explains how to do everything. His hand gestures, his lisp, he’s adorable! Haha! Sorry, gone a bit over the top!
